Job Title: Transportation CAD Designer

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Transportation CAD Designer to join our team in Dallas, Frisco, or Fort Worth, Texas. In this role, you will assist transportation engineers in producing 3D CAD models and generating plan sets for construction projects. This position requires a solid understanding of project requirements, scope of work, and deliverables while contributing to high-quality design outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand project requirements, scope of work, and deliverables.
  • Prepare detailed and layout drawings of complex or original designs, applying both theoretical and practical engineering knowledge.
  • Develop and follow quality control processes for incorporating mark-ups and deliverables.
  • Ensure output aligns with professional standards.
  • Collaborate with other groups, CAD personnel, subconsultants, and project engineers to support project production.
  • Provide guidance and collaborate with other CAD staff within the group.
  • Provide input for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Potential to manage and supervise CAD staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree in CAD preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering design and technical support.
  • Proficiency in Microstation, with preference for Open Roads Designer, Geopak, and/or InRoads.
  • Proven ability to learn, adapt, and problem solve to produce accurate and quality deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing or supervising CAD teams.
  • Knowledge of transportation and civil engineering design.
