Job Description:
Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to mechanical engineering design. Responsibilities: • Conduct construction document reviews as required. • Plan, organize, and coordinate mechanical engineering and multi-disciplined team/design projects while engaged in the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects including project startup. • Demonstrate design experience in the area of nuclear industry HVAC design work and design related codes and standards. • Generate and review the accuracy of design/evaluation calculations, and specifications. • Familiarity with computer aided drafting applications is required.
Education and Experience: • Bachelor of Science in engineering with a minimum of 10 years’ experience (nuclear preferred) in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, and related phases of engineering. Professional Engineer License preferred but not required.
Experienced in the engineering aspects of supporting a construction project – submittal reviews, responding to construction’s request for information, managing design revisions to capture as-built conditions. Experienced in managing designers, checking, and approving other’s work. Experienced in matrixed organization supporting multiple projects. Able to organize and prioritize work. Focus on technical details while maintaining a balance with overall workload.
Location: Greenville, SC (Onsite or hybrid)
(Hybrid schedule will be 75% remote with 25% travel to Greenville, SC. Travel expenses and reimbursements run through GSA per diem.)
