Data Architect

The Data Architect will work with the Portfolio Management team and Enterprise Information Management team to architect, develop and implement a data lake and views to support project portfolio and IT operations status and financial reports.

Main Position Duties: 

• Work with current EIM development team to understand the current architecture state and challenges experienced
• Work with business analyst(s) to understand informational and analytical requirements
• Work with the ETL architect to understand the design of target environment data structures
• Work with subject matter experts and business analysts to understand source system data and structures
• Define a roadmap/design for the new Portfolio Management data architecture that ensures flexibility, scalability, offshore development/support capability, and strong principles of usability, and performance
• Develop architecture standards for future code design, team based development in the new architecture
• Provide thought leadership on the data modeling trends within the domain
• Work with the LOB leads and the business analysts to ensure that the architecture provides the information needed by the business to make decisions
• Work closely with Portfolio Management leadership to define resources, estimates, project plans needed for future phases
• Provide hands-on problem-solving assistance with data integration and data profiling tools to developers
• Generate detailed design documentation for the solutions
• Create test scenarios and be responsible for their execution
• Work closely with the deployment team to ensure a smooth transition from development to production operation and support
• Work with Product Manager and business analysts to define and analyze requirements
• Monitor existing systems to proactively recommend and execute procedures to ensure optimal system performance.
• Unit test, integration test and document solutions developed

Required Qualifications:

• 7-10 years of Data architecture/modeling experience in Enterprise environments
• 5+ years’ experience on a data warehouse team with a good understanding of data architecture, best practices, processes and standards
• Experience with SQL, Data Warehouses, Teredata, Power BI
• Experience with ETL tools like Informatica or SSIS
• Experience with Denodo a plus
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• BS with 7-10 years of relevant experience working with technical issues
